Rise of AI Art Memes

In the recent Tiktok and Instagram community, there has been a significant rise in the number of posts created with AI Art. Out of these posts, a group of artificially-generated animals have been receiving lots of attention. Here are some examples of so-called Italian Brainrot. 

Bombardiro Crocodilo - This meme shows an anthropomorphic crocodile with a bomber plane’s body. Ominous music plays in the background while the dialogue for Bombardiro Crocodilo plays. The origins of this viral video is unknown, but it was first seen on Tiktok on February 20th, 2025, uploaded by user @armenjiharhanyan. The meme has many variants, including Bombini Gusini, which is a goose attached to a bomber (apparently claimed to be Bombardiro Crocodilo’s brother). A new phonk-type music featuring this image, titled “Bombardino Crocodilo Funk”, was released on March 20, 2025. 

Tralalero Tralala - This meme shows a Great White Shark wearing blue Nike shoes on its two pectoral fins and anal fin. The soundtrack for this meme was originally posted on Tiktok by user @eZBurger401, but he was banned sometime in early 2025. There are many instances of this creature being compared to Bombardiro Crocodilo, where the two characters fight. The full battle extends to more than four rounds, created by different fans of the Italian brain rot community. A phonk song for this meme was also created, titled “Tralalero Tralala Funk”, released in late February of 2025. 

Lirili Larila - This meme shows an elephant made out of cactus plants and wearing flippers made out of leather. Desert-themed background music plays as the narrator speaks the dialogue. A floating stopwatch is shown next to the animal, which signals his superpower of stopping time. Posted by @CapybaraWT on TikTok, this meme gained 20 million views in only 2 months. In many battles involving Lirili Larila, the flippers will eventually disappear or deform since the videos are made of ai. 

Boneca Ambalabu - This meme depicts a hybrid between human, frog and car tire. Similar to Bombardiro Crocodilo, ominous music plays in the background. The creature has the head of a green frog, body made out of a car tire and the feet of a human. The video was first posted by @breno on TikTok, gaining almost one million likes in three weeks. 

Tung Tung Tung Sahur - An Indonesian variant of this brain rot trend. Unlike the other instances which are animal hybrids, Tung Tung Tung Sahur is a wooden creature holding a baseball bat. There were many memes about this entity being compared with one of the Italian Brainrot Animals - Brr Brr Patapim. 

Here is the translation for the dialogue of Tung Tung Tung Sahur: Tung tung tung tung sahur. Scary anomaly that only comes out at Sahur. It is said that if someone calls for Sahur three times and does not answer, then this creature comes to your house. It's very scary. Tung tung usually makes a sound like a gong.
