From February 11th to the 16th, myself and 8 others were invited to the International School of Beijing (ISB) to represent our school in the AMIS orchestra festival.
AMIS result inquiries were announced very soon after the finalized examination. I was placed as an alternative participant; eligible to attend the festival if a different student decided to drop their acceptance. I didn’t take the news personally as I had previously participated in last year’s festival at Korea International School’s Jeju Campus.
However, a positive spotlight would come and find me. The AMIS organization informed me that a position had opened up and I could partake in the event at my own desire. At first, refusing the offer sounded bittersweet to me, but with the strong demand of my parents, I instigated myself into the orchestra.
I was able to meet the greatest musicians from all across Asia. With the guidance of professional conductors, the orchestra was able to weave beautiful threads of music and combine them into sounds similar to those of a philharmonic accord.

Performing wasn’t the only memorable aspect of the trip. During the endeavor, I was able to enjoy activities that were exclusive to China. To elevate my recollection of the trip, I received a certificate from AMIS to forever remember and cherish these escapades.
